Data minimisation

The site is a public educational publication. It does not provide user accounts, public profiles, comments, intimate uploads or discussion spaces. Search terms entered into the on-site glossary are processed in the page URL and should not contain personal information.

Google Analytics is optional and disabled until you accept it. We store your accept or reject choice in a first-party cookie for six months. You can change it through Cookie settings on any page. Accepting loads Google Analytics, which may set analytics cookies; rejecting does not load it. Withdrawal stops further loading and attempts to clear site analytics cookies, although data already collected cannot be withdrawn this way. Hosting and security providers may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL and timestamps to deliver and protect the site. They may also set strictly necessary security cookies used to distinguish malicious automated traffic.

Search privacy

Glossary searches can concern health, sexuality, relationships or other sensitive interests. The publication does not intentionally record raw search phrases, and any future analytics configuration must exclude query strings and full URLs that contain them.

Readers should not enter names, diagnoses, contact details or personal case histories into the site search. Search works locally within the delivered catalogue and does not send a question to a retailer or community member. The site uses a restrictive referrer policy so full paths and search terms are not sent in ordinary cross-site referrer headers.

External research links

Opening a research database, public body or other cited external source moves the reader to that organisation's privacy and cookie practices.

External citation does not transfer responsibility for that organisation's data practices to this site.

Correction feedback

The correction form prepares an email in the reader's own email application. The website does not receive, store or track text entered into the form.

The email provider and recipient process the message once the reader chooses to send it. Readers should include only the information needed to explain the editorial issue and avoid unnecessary sensitive or identifying information.

Retailer links and commercial tracking

The site contains clearly labelled Uberkinky affiliate links on selected product guides, eligible related education guides and the retailer directory, plus Honour Clothing and Awin/Amazon links in the directory. Following an affiliate link moves the reader through the programme's attribution route to the retailer, where its privacy, cookie and attribution practices apply. The UK Kink Guide does not set a first-party affiliate cookie or conversion pixel.

Optional Google Analytics is controlled by the consent choice described above. No analytics script is requested before acceptance; the Site remains usable after rejection.

Public access

The publication is publicly accessible and may be indexed by search engines. Readers do not need an account to view its educational pages.

Any future change in audience, personalisation or data collection should trigger a fresh privacy, safeguarding and accessibility review.
