Terms of use

The terms for using The UK Kink Guide: adults only, general information not personal advice, affiliate links, copyright, liability and contact details.

Publisher and scope

The UK Kink Guide is published by Peter Taylor trading as Does Your Duck Quack?, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN. The publication provides independent, non-explicit education for UK adults. Contact webmaster@thekinkguide.co.uk about the site, these terms or a request to use its material.

These terms describe the intended use of the publication and its resources. They apply to this website, rather than to a retailer, booking service, social network or other organisation linked from it. Read the relevant provider's own terms before buying, booking, registering or sharing information there.

Adults only and general information

The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. This is an editorial audience rule, not a statement about every age threshold in UK law. The publication does not provide a service for arranging personal meetings or accepting public intimate uploads.

Content is general information, not personal medical, legal, therapeutic or financial advice. A definition or checklist cannot assess a person's circumstances, health, capacity or consent. Use appropriate professional services for an individual decision, and read the medical and legal disclaimer for the limits of the material.

Sources and checked dates help readers assess a page. They do not promise that information will remain unchanged or that a source applies in every UK nation. If you notice an error, use the corrections policy rather than relying on wording you believe is wrong.

Affiliate links and external services

Some links can earn the publisher a commission from a qualifying purchase. Relevant pages identify affiliate programmes and label commercial destinations. The affiliate disclosure explains the funding model; following an affiliate link is optional, and reading educational content does not require a purchase.

Retailers and other external providers control their own stock, prices, services, privacy practices and terms. Check those details directly before committing. A link is provided for the stated purpose and does not make the publisher responsible for every statement, product or action on the external site.

Copyright and permitted use

You may read the site and use its information for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may share a link to a public page and print a reasonable personal copy where a print facility is offered. Keep the site name, source references and any relevant limitations with that copy.

Do not scrape the publication, republish its pages, reproduce its illustrations or sell collections of its content without permission. Contact the publisher about licensing, teaching materials or another proposed use. These terms do not claim ownership of material belonging to third parties or remove any use that applicable law permits.

The private kink test

The kink test is an optional reflection tool, not a diagnosis, validated assessment or instruction to act. Answers stay in your browser during use. If you choose to create and share an answer link, treat that link as sensitive because someone who receives it can read the information it contains.

You decide whether to create or share an answer link. Read the privacy policy for information about site analytics, consent choices and contact data. Do not send personal quiz answers to the publisher when reporting a technical problem.

Responsibility and limits

Use the publication with attention to its scope and the date of the material. The publisher aims to correct verified errors but cannot promise uninterrupted access, a particular outcome or suitability for every reader. Optional tools can be unavailable or behave differently across devices.

Any limit on liability is intended to apply only as far as applicable law allows. Nothing in these terms seeks to exclude a responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or to take away rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Seek qualified advice if you need to understand how a specific legal issue affects you.

Changes, governing law and contact

These terms may change as the publication develops. The updated date identifies this version; check the current page before relying on a saved copy. Material corrections can also be reported through webmaster@thekinkguide.co.uk, with the page address and the wording concerned.

Proposed governing law: the law of Scotland. This proposal is awaiting confirmation by the publisher, Peter Taylor, and is not presented as a confirmed jurisdiction clause or evidence of legal review.

Last updated: 29 October 2026. For questions about permitted use, a correction or these terms, email webmaster@thekinkguide.co.uk. Please include only the information needed to explain the request, rather than intimate, medical or other unnecessary sensitive details.
