How claims, sources, uncertainty, lived experience and review dates are handled.
We prefer legislation, regulators, NHS and public-health guidance, professional standards, systematic reviews and peer-reviewed primary research. Community sources may explain language and practice but are labelled as such.
A citation supports a particular claim; it does not make every statement from that source universally applicable.
We separate established guidance, emerging evidence, professional judgement and community convention. Limitations such as self-selected samples, small studies, changing terminology and jurisdiction are stated where material.
Absence of evidence is not presented as proof of safety, harm, normality or disorder.
Publisher-reviewed means the publisher has checked the page against its cited sources, scope, internal consistency and non-graphic safeguards on the date shown. It does not mean that a doctor, lawyer or other external specialist approved the page unless that is stated explicitly.
Pages show a review date or belong to a dated editorial edition. Material changes in law, clinical guidance or safety advice are prioritised for review.
External clinical, legal, safeguarding or product-safety review is only listed when a named reviewer has completed a role-specific review for the page or programme stated.
Review status in this policy is not a blanket endorsement of every page. It is specific to the scope, reviewer and date shown.
Educational coverage is commissioned and reviewed independently of any present or future commercial relationship. A product-discovery page must provide useful selection criteria without requiring a purchase or naming a preferred company.
If affiliate marketing is activated, qualifying links will be labelled before the click, use appropriate sponsored-link attributes and remain visually separate from evidence and safety content. Payment will not buy coverage, ranking, favourable wording or removal of criticism.
AI-generated editorial illustrations are labelled on detailed pages. They are used to organise and clarify adult educational material, not as evidence, documentary records or depictions of real people.
Every generated image must be reviewed for adult-only scope, factual fit, accessibility, stigma and consistency with the site's non-graphic safeguards. An illustration never determines coverage, wording or a conclusion.
The publisher retains responsibility for publication, corrections and the application of these standards. The site does not currently claim external clinical or legal review unless a page names one explicitly.
