How claims, sources, uncertainty, lived experience and review dates are handled.
We prefer legislation, regulators, NHS and public-health guidance, professional standards, systematic reviews and peer-reviewed primary research. Community sources may explain language and practice but are labelled as such.
A citation supports a particular claim; it does not make every statement from that source universally applicable.
We separate established guidance, emerging evidence, professional judgement and community convention. Limitations such as self-selected samples, small studies, changing terminology and jurisdiction are stated where material.
Absence of evidence is not presented as proof of safety, harm, normality or disorder.
Pages show a review date or belong to a dated editorial edition. Material changes in law, clinical guidance or safety advice are prioritised for review.
Coverage, wording, sources and conclusions are decided solely by educational value and the quality of the available evidence.
