Adult sleep-fantasy terminology
An adult fantasy or fictional theme involving sleep, waking or imagined unawareness. It must be separated from real sexual activity with a person who is asleep, unconscious or unable to give ongoing consent.
Consensual exhibitionistic play
A staged adult scenario in which agreed visibility or display creates excitement. It belongs in private, controlled or specifically consenting settings; exposing non-consenting bystanders is outside this definition.
Consensual non-consent fantasy
A pre-negotiated adult fantasy that stages resistance, capture or apparent loss of control while real consent remains active, bounded and withdrawable outside the fiction.
Consensual sleep fantasy
An adult fantasy involving sleep, apparent sleep or staged unresponsiveness, ethically explored through fiction or role-play while real participants retain capacity and communication.
Consensual voyeuristic play
A staged adult scenario in which being watched, or watching, is agreed by everyone involved. It is categorically different from observing an unaware person, invading privacy or recording without permission.
Cuckolding and hotwifing
Consensual adult fantasies or arrangements in which a partner's erotic attention to another adult carries meaning for the relationship. Different people may emphasise shared excitement, compersion, jealousy, observation, status or humiliation, so the labels do not describe one fixed script.
Dollification
Adult role-play or transformation fantasy centred on becoming doll-like through styling, posing, stillness, scripted behaviour or consensual objectification. This entry concerns clearly adult presentation only. The label does not remove autonomy, create permanent permission or require someone to remain silent or still when uncomfortable.
Erotic cosplay
Adult fantasy or role-play using costumes inspired by fictional characters, genres or original personas. Cosplay as a wider hobby is not inherently sexual; the term here refers only to its consensual adult erotic use.
Fear play
A consensual adult fantasy or role-play theme in which agreed anticipation, uncertainty or simulated fear is meaningful. It is not consent to real threats, coercion, harm or trauma. The theme may remain entirely fictional, and nobody must feel frightened or prove bravery to participate in a relationship.
Forced-orgasm fantasy
A pre-negotiated adult fantasy in which control over stimulation or climax is theatrically assigned to another person while real consent remains active and withdrawable.
Furry interest
Participation in a fandom built around anthropomorphic animal characters, art and personas. The furry community is not inherently sexual; some adults incorporate its imagery or identities into erotic fantasy, while many do not.
Gender play
Consensual adult exploration of gendered clothing, language, roles, mannerisms or presentation within fantasy, performance or power exchange.
Identity-based taboo role-play
Consensual adult role-play using socially charged identity, status, stereotype or taboo language for psychological intensity, with potential for real personal and social harm.
Inflation fantasy
A transformation fantasy involving imagined expansion of a body, body part, garment or character, usually explored through art, fiction, costume or visual effects.
Kitten play
Adult pet play using a cat-like persona, often involving affection, independence, playfulness, grooming symbolism, movement or an owner-and-pet power dynamic.
Knife and blade symbolism
An adult fantasy, visual or role-play interest involving knives, blades or their symbolism. A fantasy or prop theme must be separated from real-world weapon use, injury and legal risk.
Pony play
Adult pet-play fantasy based on stylised equine roles, potentially involving persona, grooming ritual, dressage-like movement, costume, handler dynamics or carefully assessed cart work.
Pregnancy fantasy
Adult fantasy focused on pregnancy, fertility, conception symbolism, body change, anticipation or caregiving, without necessarily expressing a wish for real pregnancy.
Primal play
A loosely defined adult style that emphasises instinct-like expression, movement, sound or pursuit within consent. Some people use predator-and-prey imagery or energetic physical play; others use only voice, gaze, posture or fantasy. It is not automatically animal role-play, rough sex or consensual non-consent.
Pup play
A form of adult pet play in which a participant adopts a stylised puppy or dog-like persona, often with emphasis on playfulness, pack community, headspace or handler dynamics. It can be social and identity-based as well as erotic.
Robot and machine role-play
Adult fantasy or role-play involving programmed behaviour, mechanical movement, remote commands, artificial identity or imagined transformation into a robot or machine.
Size fantasy
A fantasy focused on exaggerated differences in body size, scale or power. It is commonly explored through imagination, art, camera perspective or role-play rather than literal physical change.
Size-difference and giantess fantasy
An adult fantasy or aesthetic interest in imagined size differences, giant or miniature characters, scale, power or perspective. It may be entirely fictional and does not imply real-world physical pressure or control.
Supernatural fantasy
Adult fantasy involving fictional ghosts, monsters, non-human beings or supernatural encounters, usually explored through imagination, fiction, art, costume or consensual role-play.
Technosexual interest
A broad label for erotic or romantic interest shaped by technology, such as robots, artificial agents, virtual bodies or technologically mediated intimacy. Meanings change with the technology and are not captured by a single clinical category.
Transformation fantasy
Fantasy centred on changing body, identity, species, material, scale or social role. It is often explored through fiction, art, costume or role-play and does not necessarily express a wish for literal physical change.
Vore fantasy
A fictional transformation fantasy involving swallowing, being swallowed or existing inside an imagined body, ordinarily represented through art, stories, animation or role-play.
